The Commission is vigorously pursuing the process of law reforms in Sindh and KP provinces. Regarding law reforms in Sindh, the Commission has pursued the process of amendments in Sindh Child protection Authority Act. 2011 by delineating the roles and responsibilities of Social Welfare Department and Sindh Child Protection Authority. The Commission has also given its recommendations to Sindh Child Protection Authority, Social Welfare Department and Law Department, Government of Sindh.
To further pursue the agenda of law reforms in Sindh, a visit was paid to the province to hold meetings with relevant stakeholders and concerned authorities including Chairperson Standing Committee on Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Human Rights, Secretary Social welfare Department and Director General Sindh Child Protection Authority. Likewise to implement the mandate of the Commission in terms of dealing with issues of child protection policy reforms, complaint handling and awareness the key meetings were also held with IG Sindh Police, Judicial Academy and Prison Department.
Similarly, the Commission is also pursuing the law reforms in KP Child Protection and Welfare Act 2010 to strengthen Child Protection Systems in consonance with the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC).
