Guidelines to Sindh Govt for Implementing JJSA 2018

In line with guidelines provided to the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, similar recommendations were made to Sindh Government. In this connection, NCRC wrote letters to provincial home secretaries, IG Police, IG Jails and other relevant stakeholders. The objective was to formulate the rules of implementation of the Juvenile Justice System Act 2018, creating institutions and structures such as observations homes, juvenile rehabilitation centers, appointment of probation officers, notification of juvenile courts, constitution of Juvenile Justice Committees and designation of panel of lawyers for free legal aid. The Commission, being the policy reviewing body at the national level has mandate to write federal and provincial governments and entities to implement the laws.
The Commission emphasized the framing of Rules for JJSA as an important step forward in the enforcement of the Rights of Children in Conflict with the Law. The Commission asked the Sindh Government to expedite the process of framing of Rules and implementation of the JJSA, 2018 in the Province of Sindh in its true spirit.
